&#8220;The final leg&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\">Our last major re-supply stop was in Campbell River.\u00a0 From there on, we had a few weeks of sunny, warm cruising.\u00a0 The change in climate and environment was dramatic.\u00a0 In our minds this summer has turned into two trips:\u00a0 The isolated wilderness trip with lots of challenging weather, and the warm trip, with sunny weather and lots of other boats around.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=1x_r7nV5XGe9oFiAMpIE_-a-Hn40BSAQB\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200719-001-HR-2-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"20200719-001-HR-2-Edit\" src=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200719-001-HR-2-Edit_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"20200719-001-HR-2-Edit\" width=\"580\" height=\"772\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Just outside Campbell River there was a mess of sportfishing boats out fishing.\u00a0 So I put on my \u201cWild\u201d salmon t-shirt and joined the fray.\u00a0 And a fray it was &#8211; a while later we pulled in this nice Coho, which we almost lost to a sea lion.\u00a0 There was a lot of excitement and yelling when I spotted the sea lion in the water and when Jan finally netted the fish, the sea lion stuck its head up and glared at her.\u00a0 If you look closely you can see the sea lion\u2019s teeth scrape marks on the side of the salmon.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200719-010-HR-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"20200719-010-HR-Edit\" src=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200719-010-HR-Edit_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"20200719-010-HR-Edit\" width=\"580\" height=\"772\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">The Coho made a very tasty dinner.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200721-035-HR-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"20200721-035-HR-Edit\" src=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200721-035-HR-Edit_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"20200721-035-HR-Edit\" width=\"1028\" height=\"772\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Jan cured the rest of the salmon with salt, sugar, and zest of orange, lemon and lime.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-011-HR-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"20200720-011-HR-Edit\" src=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-011-HR-Edit_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"20200720-011-HR-Edit\" width=\"1028\" height=\"772\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Boat traffic increased as we headed over toward Desolation Sound.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-017-HR-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"20200720-017-HR-Edit\" src=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-017-HR-Edit_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"20200720-017-HR-Edit\" width=\"1028\" height=\"772\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Prideaux Haven, one of the most popular anchorages in Desolation Sound.\u00a0 You can\u2019t see them all in one picture, but we counted 88 boats in this cove.\u00a0 The days of having a cove to ourselves are over!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-019-HR-2-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"20200720-019-HR-2-Edit\" src=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-019-HR-2-Edit_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"20200720-019-HR-2-Edit\" width=\"1027\" height=\"772\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">The numbers of boats here was just amazing.\u00a0 We anchored off to the side and just watched the goings-on.\u00a0 We hadn\u2019t had this much distraction in a long time.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/riffelages.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/20200720-026-HR-Edit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;
